Our Story

JMS Marketing, Inc., began as JMS Consultations, Inc., and opened for business in 1992 with Columbia Pictures’ “Groundhog Day” as its first client. And like most entrepreneurs, it began in a spare bedroom of a house with just a basic computer and the home phone. After the official wrap of the film, JMS’ founder, Jean Marie, set out to assist local businesses with their marketing plans.

Making the most of her corporate marketing knowledge and experience with such companies as The Miller Brewing Company, The Seven-Up Company and ACCO International, Jean Marie began offering small businesses advice, planning and evaluation of their marketing initiatives. From branding and promotions to implementation and results, she quickly saw the need for responsible, ethical marketing consulting, particularly in the B2B sector.

Through the years, the company grew into larger office space and expanded its staff. In 2015, the company changed its name to reflect the full scope of marketing services they now represented. The small business consultancy grown out of local business roots was now JMS Marketing, Inc., a professional turn-key B2B marketing agency serving established businesses both national and internationally. The company proudly became a certified Google Partner and continued to expand its marketing automation services in addition to traditional marketing initiatives.

JMS celebrates its 25th year in business in 2017. In addition, it has received the prestigious honor of being nationally certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Chicago Certification Committee, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

Through the years, the company has grown from a single person offering sage marketing advice to small businesses to become a highly-respected B2B turn-key marketing agency. They employ a lean, talented, multidisciplinary team of marketing strategists, graphic designers and planners. From the very beginning, JMS has remained client-centered versus agency-centered, taking exceptional care of its clients. And, with more complex tasks and challenges than ever before, they maintain the highest ethical standards each day, remaining totally transparent, accountable and results-driven.
